Drowning prevention week

June 10 2019

One person drowns every 20 hours in the UK and hundreds more suffer life changing injuries through near drowning.

Learn how to be safe in and around water.

Drowning prevention week is a national campaign from the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS). By spreading water safety advice far and wide, drowning prevention week aims to teach people how to stay safe near water. This year it runs from 14th-24th June.

Our swim school already incorporates important learning about water safety including, retrieval, entry/exit from the water, floatation and swimming skills. During this week we will be placing a special emphasis on water safety and offering rookie style sessions in the higher stage swimming lessons.

Grab some of the drowning activity & puzzle sheets from reception and complete them for a chance to win a months worth of free swimming lessons.
