Guildford Spectrum and Ash Manor set to reopen on August 1st

July 24 2020

Freedom Leisure teams at Guildford Spectrum and Ash Manor Sports Centre can’t wait to welcome their customers back from August 1st.

Things will look a bit different at the centres as we adhere to Covid 19 government guidance but what will be the same are the friendly teams who will make sure everybody has a positive experience as they return to use their local community leisure centre. After four months of closure we know our customers are eager to get back to the fitness and leisure activities that they have missed.

In order to make it as safe as possible for customers to return. A booking system will be in place for all activities including lane swimming and visits will be time-limited to ensure capacity levels are not exceeded.

There will be increased cleaning at the centres and a there will be hand sanitisers stations available throughout.  Only cashless payment will be accepted and contact details will be taken from every customer to support the Government’s track and trace system.

Ivan Horsfall-Turner, Managing Director Freedom Leisure, said: “Freedom Leisure is delighted to be reopening Guildford Spectrum and Ash Manor Sports Centre. Our teams are working hard to make sure the centres are ready and waiting to welcome back the local community.

A lot of planning and work has already been done, and our focus is on making sure our centres are ready and provide the reassurance our customers need to return – their wellbeing and that of our staff is at the heart of our preparations to reopen. We look forward to seeing everyone very soon.”

Cllr James Steel Said “We look forward to welcoming our residents back to Guildford Spectrum and Ash Manor Sports Centre. We know how much you’ve missed our leisure centres and keeping fit, active and healthy is extremely important for all ages, even more so after the restrictions we’ve needed to follow in order to keep safe from the Coronavirus (Covid 19). It will be great to see our sports communities take steps towards coming back together in the ‘new normal’. Thank you to all the staff involved for their hard work to thoroughly prepare the centres with social distancing measures and cleaning to ensure that both staff and residents are kept safe.”

Further details on what activities and facilities are going to be available from 1st August can be found on the centres’ webpages and on social media.
