Alleyne's Sports Centre provides the opportunity to complete a range of courses leading to a qualification.
All courses are tutor led with exam-based assessments. A study book and certificate are inclusive of the course fee. Please call for further details, bookings and availability of all courses.
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is widely accepted by swimming pools in the UK and Ireland as a minimum qualification as a role of lifeguard within the swimming pool. The course includes swimming pool rescue skills, basic life support, basic First Aid, managing a casualty suffering from a spinal injury, managing a swimming pool environment identifying hazards that could cause harm to users and much more.
To enrol on this course, candidates:
To retain your NPLQ you must attend 20 hours of training over a two year period and the course must be renewed every 2 years.
The NRASTC is a supervision and rescue qualification for teachers working on the poolside or in the water during programmed activities, such as a swimming lesson. It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools, including pools where the water is deeper than the teacher’s standing depth.

AED Trainer Assessors are responsible for the delivery of RLSS UK AED qualifications throughout the UK and overseas. This course follows on from the above Trainer Assessor Course. You must be a qualified or probationary Trainer Assessor to complete this course.
