Sport and participation in sport still remains an important part of our culture. Working towards Sport England’s 5 outcomes, across Stafford, we want to contribute to their national target of getting ‘half a million people more active’ by 2020.

We want to also support local talented athletes with gym membership and our grants scheme. We will also be part of the Stafford Borough Sports Awards and sponsor an award on the night. We will look to develop inclusive facilities and programmes for disabled or additional needs participants to enjoy and take part in sport.

Within Stafford we know that 67.1% of adults are active and 14.1% of the population are doing the recommended levels (150 min) of activity per week. As 58% want to do more sport, we develop programmes with key organisations such as Staffordshire FA, Badminton England and Basketball England to develop more programmes of activity. We work with local sports clubs and want to celebrate local sporting success.
