We encourage all people in Stafford, regardless of ability to age well. As a nation we have an ageing population- Whilst this is a positive outcome from improved health care and standards of living, our ageing populations are also costing our services millions of pounds due to inactivity.

Of the 134,200 people living in Stafford Borough, 21.7% are over 65 years which is more than the National average Only 20.6% of 55-65’s take part in regular activity which is lower than the national average. We provide a wide range of programmes to encourage active ageing in Stafford including walking sports ( football and netball), unlimited swimming for the over 75s and activities for those with dementia and their carers.
