We encourage all people in East Northamptonshire, regardless of ability to age well. As a nation we have an ageing population- Whilst this is a positive outcome from improved health care and standards of living, our ageing populations are also costing our services millions of pounds due to inactivity.

Of the older people living in East Northamptonshire, 20.2% are over 65 years which is more than the National average. Which includes18.7%, of East Northamptonshire care home residents aged 65 or over and 6,000 people are living with Dementia. With a higher need for an ageing population to be more active, we will be providing a broad range of programmes to encourage active ageing in East Northamptonshire including Health Walks, Falls Prevention programme, sheltered housing seated exercise and Dementia Walks.
