apprenticeships
Freedom Leisure Training offer a number of Apprenticeship Programmes and are delighted to be able to provide so many employment and development opportunities for young people who want to work in the leisure industry.
what is an apprenticeship?
An Apprenticeship Programme is essentially a package of training that is delivered while you are working, learning as you go, on the job. They are available to staff who are already employed but more traditionally Apprenticeship training, being employed as an Apprentice, is a great way of getting started in a job. The training is a combination of work based learning (NVQ Diploma), Key Skills (English and Maths), and a selection of courses that are relevant to the type of Apprenticeship you are on. You would work alongside your colleagues in a team but you will receive more training opportunities and will be given additional support.
additional training provided
To complete an Apprenticeship, there is a minimum amount of training that you will need to do, but with Freedom Leisure Training we will offer you more training opportunities than this minimum requirement. We believe that to get the most from the Apprenticeship experience, additional training can only be a good thing, and because we deliver a wide range of training courses there are a number of options available. There is no question that Freedom Leisure Training offer more within our Apprenticeship Programme than other training providers.
who is eligible to be an apprentice?
Apprenticeships are available to anyone aged 16 or over who is not in full time education and does not have a degree. To be an Apprentice you must be employed for over 16 hours per week, although the expectation would be that you work at least 30 hours per week up to full time. Apprenticeships can be offered at Level 2 (operational level) or Level 3 (more managerial with some supervisory responsibilities), and last up to 12 months (L2) or up to 18 months (L3), although they can be completed quicker depending on the progress made by the Apprentice.
what happens when the apprenticeship ends?
At the end of the Apprenticeship it would be hoped that you are taken on as a permanent member of staff, and this is the aspiration of the programme, but this decision would rest with the manager at the leisure facility where you are working.
are you interested in becoming an apprentice?
Anyone interested in becoming an Apprentice can contact the leisure facility where they are interested in working and find out if they have any opportunities. Alternatively, we at Freedom Leisure Training would be very happy to hear from you - please complete the enquiry form at the bottom of this page. We will arrange to meet you and then we can then see if there are any opportunities that we know of within Freedom Leisure, or we can talk to other leisure operators to find out if we can match you up. However, while we will do our best to help you any decision to employ you will be made solely by the leisure operator. Click on this link for contact details.
