Course Details

The Annual First Aid Refresher is an HSE Approved course and is covered over 3 hours.  The course is designed to update and refresh the knowledge and skills of anyone with First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.  This refresher training is strongly recommended by the HSE and is ideally completed one year, and then two years after qualification (ie two Annual First Aid Refreshers should be completed during the three years of qualification).

Delivering the Training On-Site

While we offer open courses for this training, if you have a number of staff (say 6 or more) who need to attend it may be more cost effective for you if we came to you on days and at times that suit you. 

On-Site Price

To deliver this 3 hour course anywhere in Sussex, for a maximum of 12 people, the price is £250.  If you are a school, local authority or other partner organisation, the price is £210.  Additional costs may be added for courses run outside Sussex.
The cost does not include venue hire or refreshments.  Please note that the venue must be suitable for the course (please ask us for our advice if you are uncertain).  The price quoted is the price you pay – VAT is not applicable.  To book your training or discuss prices, please contact us.

Open Course Price

To attend an open course, the price is £45 per person (no VAT to pay).

Syllabus

The course gives you the chance to refresh your skills and practice realistic situations to build on your knowledge and confidence in dealing with First Aid situations in the workplace. The course includes assessing the situation in an emergency, dealing with unconscious casualties (including seizure), cardiopulmonary resuscitation, wounds and bleeding and shock. 

Assessment and Certification

There is no formal assessment at the end of the course, although trainees must demonstrate their skills and knowledge learnt during the course.  Trainees do not receive a certificate at the end of the course as the training is a refresher of the qualification already held.
