Established in April 2002 as a not for profit leisure trust Freedom ran four centres on behalf of Wealden District Council. Since then the company has enjoyed considerable growth and now manages 33 leisure sites and entertainment venues across Sussex, Surrey and Kent for a number of partners.
As a not for profit trust we have no share holders to pay and surplus income is reinvested directly into the centre to provide an improved leisure service for the communities in which we operate. We work together with our key partners including local authorities, Primary Care Trusts, schools, colleges, charities and other public, private and not-for-profit organisations.
Our board of trustees is independent and voluntary. They are highly experienced with skills drawn from both the public and private sector. We are not owned by anybody, such as employees, shareholders, or private sector organisations.
We are committed to developing locally empowered and locally accountable partnerships. Our objective is to make a positive impact and contribute to local services and facilities.
We are all dedicated to working with our partners to deliver first class services and facilities and to encourage everyone to enjoy and participate regularly in a healthy and active lifestyle and have some fun doing it.
