rssgrand open day & unveiling of new changing facilities at king alfred
On Saturday 16th June entry is just £1 all day (+ optional donation to British Heart Founation) and includes swimming and swimming lesson taster sessions.
There will also be a whole range of fitness activities taking place throughout the day including Zumba Classes, fitness testing, a splash dance pool party for 12-16 year olds and disability fitness sessions run by Albion in the community – all included in the £1 entrance fee!
“We hope the new changing rooms will encourage more people to swim at King Alfred Leisure Centre,” says Stuart Crawford who manages the Freedom Leisure Centre. “But the King Alfred isn’t just about swimming and the open day will demonstrate the variety of activities we have on offer here. We also have Badminton and Back to Netball sessions and we’re home to martial arts, boxing and kickboxing clubs. Whether it’s for swimming, gym or classes we hope that the public will come along to see just how much King Alfred Leisure Centre has to offer to the local community.”
Parents will also be able to register their children for free swimming as Freedom Leisure continue to offer this benefit in partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council and NHS Brighton and Hove. 11 and unders’ can swim for free at all the City’s pools while 12-16 year olds will soon be able to enjoy the same benefit after 2pm at the weekends.
